WHAT IS AN ADVERTISING CASE       STUDY

An advertising case study is a marketing tool that describes how an advertising agency or a media company helps an advertiser meet marketing objectives, overcome problems and achieve successful results. Organizations use case studies as part of the sales process to illustrate their skills, capability and approach, as well as to demonstrate how they work with customers.

What is Case Study
   A case study can be defined as an intensive study about a person, a group of people or a unit, which is aimed to generalize over several units.  A case study has also been described as an intensive, systematic investigation of a single individual, group, community or some other unit in which the researcher examines in.

  Case studies are a marketing staple. Businesses use them to show how their product or service has been implemented successfully by customers. Instead of simply talking about a product, case studies allow businesses to show how their product can be used.

WHAT IS FASHION DESIGN

  Fashion design is a form of art dedicated to the creation of clothing and other lifestyle accessories. 

  Fashion designers must be visionaries and be good at executing their visions from the concept to the final product of the clothing line, using good technical skills in the process for clothing production, fabrics and textiles.  

  Fashion design is a form of art. To work as a designer, you should have an artistic and creative personality. You also have to be good at drawing and able to express your ideas in sketches. You don’t necessarily have to be a great artist, but you must have some special skills for combining colors, tones and shades. You also have to be able to work with fabric and use textiles in a creative and original manner.

  Designers should have good communication skills and be able to express their ideas clearly. But most important, they have to be very original and have fresh, innovative ideas.

 A fashion designer is just like any other professional who is required to have proper skills.  Not everyone can become a great fashion designer, but a fashion designer is one of the more high paying job

Challenges a fashion designer faces:

  • Unable to choose target customers: Decide the type of product you want to design and for whom.  Whether it is children, women, or men, you must decide your target audience. develop your strengths in specific areas rather than diversifying yourself in too many product lines and losing your focus.
  • Lack of innovation: Why do customers need your product?  Find out what differentiates your product line so you can stand out. Today’s market is flooded with a lot of designs, and consumers are confused what to choose.  Designers must consider attracting loyal repeat customers.  Show strengths in your products that set you apart from your competition.
  • Lack of business acumen: Fashion schools do not teach the basics of running a business.  Activities such as sourcing, costing, markups, floor margins, quality quotes from vendors and suppliers, and other important business activities are not taught in schools. 
  • poor marketing: You need to be branded where your customers will be, whether it is on social media, magazines, billboards, etc.  Figure out a way to reach your customers.
  • Competition on price: You need to be smart enough to read your competitors’ prices and come up with your profitable price range.

  • Created designs for clothing and accessories for men, women and children.
  • Researched design and color trends and predictions for each season.
  • Researched and compared prices and products.
  • Designed all graphics for screen-printing and embroidery for clothing and for promotional materials and accessories.

  The target market is composed of men and women, with mid-range incomes. The target customer is very fashion forward and trend conscious, residing in an urban area. They either make dress for themselves or for their children.

Laundry is inevitable, but thankfully there are people like Levi’s CEO and President Chip Bergh who want to make our lives a little easier. According to him, you should never wash a pair of jeans. Ever.

While this may prompt noises of disgust from those are less-then-enamoured by the idea of walking around in dirty clothes, Mr Bergh explained that he “spot cleans” any stains with a toothbrush.null

Speaking to Fortune in a video that was recently re-shared on social media he said: “The point I was trying to make… it was a wake-up call to consumers that we go into autopilot and after we’re finished wearing something, we just automatically toss it into the laundry.

“A good pair of denim doesn’t really need to be washed in the washing machine except for very infrequently or rarely.”

His argument is based around the fact that washing a good pair of Levis actually causes damage to the material, and is a waste of water.null

Mr Bergh isn’t the only denim expert to come out with this advice. Hiut Denim’s website says: “Raw denim is best given a good six months before washing. The longer you can leave it, the better your jeans will look.

“The reason for this is that the indigo will have worn off in places where you make natural creases. Just by sitting down, putting your phone in and out of your pockets, your hands in your pockets. All these daily little things will make your jeans look great.

With a reputation for consistently producing some of the most influential players in the field of fashion—Phoebe Philo, John Galliano, Riccardo Tisci, Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, and Grace Wales Bonner to name a few—London fashion college Central Saint Martins has been a crucial source of talent to the fashion industry since it was founded in 1854.

“Fashion at CSM is not just about clothes,” says program director for fashion Hywel Davies. “We aim to be at the heart of the debate about the future of fashion. We developed our reputation for excellence by supporting students to develop their own individual voice, and by doing this, they find their own authentic narrative.”

Despite the second lockdown in place across England, schools and universities will stay open. So, after months of remote coursework, Zoom tutorials, and pattern cutting on kitchen tables, the fashion students of CSM are finally able to return to their Granary Square HQ in London’s Kings Cross, providing they adhere to safety precautions, of course. So how does it feel to be physically back at fashion school? And with the college’s students also widely celebrated for their experimental personal style, quite importantly, what does one wear to mark the moment?
